ABT is the treatment of the human body, mind and spirit by pressure and manipulation.
ABT uses traditional Asian techniques and treatment strategies to affect and balance the energetic system for treating the human body, emotions, mind, energy field and spirit for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
ABT uses stretches, movement, compression and acupressure to:
- relieve stress, pain and muscular tension
- improve joint mobility and range of motion
- relieve soreness and stiffness of the neck, arms, and shoulders–a common American condition (Desk Syndrome)
- improve lymphatic flow, blood circulation, and chi (energy) movement to help start the healing process
- reduce anxiety, depression, insomnia, and headaches
Before a session begins, your therapist will ask a few questions to evaluate your condition.
Based on your answers the therapist will know how to proceed so that the session is most beneficial for you.
ABT is performed on the floor on a futon or a massage table or a chair with the client fully clothed. Please wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants and fresh socks.
Cotton outfit is the best choice.
Please avoid heavy meals before a session.
Allow yourself time to relax for a few minutes after the session.
Drink plenty of fresh water following your session to help remove toxins from your body released during the treatment.
ABT is a total body treatment. ABT uses techniques of Thai Yoga and Shiatsu. The goal of the treatment is to remove physical and mental blockages and free the flow of Qi in the body, so the self-healing process can start.
